Berlin-based Greek House of the Arts. Originally founded by Greek and Greek-speaking artists who live and work in the German capital, our house welcomes all artists who collaborate with our members in projects, related in any way to the Greek Arts and Culture. An interactive and intercultural community for our member and our friends.

Why a Greek House of the Arts in Berlin?

Greek Artists often struggle to be accepted in the art scene outside the Greek world (Greece and Cyprus), as most people in the field of Arts and Culture are often unfamiliar with contemporary Greek Art.

Téchne was created to break this misconception by offering Greek and Greek-speaking Artists in Germany a safe space to express themselves and show their work while also inviting non-Greek artists to explore their own path in the Greek culture.

Our first planned exhibition was unfortunately cancelled due to the Covid pandemic but we set up the Téchne Online Gallery and Téchne Online Stage to present our members’ work on a daily basis.

From the Greek word “τέχνη”, meaning “craft”, “art” and “craftsmanship.” A powerful ancient Greek word to describe the inspiration, the conception, the knowledge, the production and the ability to create. The gift of bearing.
